Business or Personal Profile?
NOTE: All of the content in this course will be moot if you have and retain a private Instagram account. When you’re ready to start using your account to make money for your business, you’re going to want to switch it to public and then keep any information you wish to keep private off of the platform.
How to Upgrade to a Business Account from a Personal Account
(both are free)
Step One: Log in to the app and tap over to your profile (this is the icon to the far right in the bottom navigation)
Step Two: Tap the index option at the top right of the screen (sometimes called a “hamburger menu”)
Step Three: Tap the option that reads “Account” (if you have a personal account, this probably won’t be as far down in the menu as it is on my account, which is already a business account)
Step Four: Scroll to where you get links highlighted in bright blue, and tap “Switch Account Type”
Step Five: Select “Business Account”
